Saturday and Sunday, end of May

Buenas Noches! Well, for pretty much everyone else you're still enjoying your Sunday afternoon, but for me it's about midnight-but the sun just set at 10pm (if you can believe that! Now I understand why Spaniards eat so late!) so I'm not too tired- but it looks like I'm going to start my studies tomorrow. Yay school. Haha, really though it will be nice because I need to know more Spanish expressions and things like that.

Yesterday Pilar (my host mom) took me on a tour of Segovia, and there were sooo many beautiful and old buildings and churches-I took a lot of pics, but I'll post the one of the famous Roman Aqueduct-it's HUGE!

Aaaaanyway, today I went to mass (not as boring as English mass because I have NO idea what they are saying-  "Our Father" and those Creeds are totally lost on me in Spanish lol)- and after that we visited a friend's and they gave the kids I live with a gift- a TINY adorable kitten!! They named her Luna (Moon) because she's very dark, I guess. Also, I ate at a reallly old restaurant (from the 1480s!!) with their other friends. So I'll put some pictures up.  Anyway, I think that's it for now!

Abrazos y besos (hugs and kisses!)
Rachel:)

Segovia!

Wow- so as I write this it's 6:30 am in Chicago, 1:30 in Spain- I'm in Segovia right now, about 40min. from Madrid- Both my plane trips went perfectly, thank God!! Anyway, I'm living with the Muñiz family, they have 2 kids and an adorable puppy (golden retriever)!! It's beautiful here, with mountains and fields (valleys I guess) and gets hot during the day- The houses are also beautiful, they almost remind me of something from Mexico or Italy, or a combo even- I'll get some pictures up soon- I went  to a dinner last night that benefitted Africa, and there was a big group of African dancers and singers, and all the food was SO good- anyway, that's all I have for now, more later! :)

Welcome!

Hey everybody! So I FINALLY got around to making a blog which I can use to share my adventures with you. YAY! I just hope I can manage to update this at least once a week and not fall too behind. Anyway, I'm flying out Thursday to Spain, so I don't really have much to say yet (except for the excitement/nervousness has been CRAZY!), but I hope you enjoy reading or skimming over my posts (or at least looking at the pictures... hey, a book is always better with pictures)! Love ya!

Rachel :)
