Well, I made it, safe and sound! I got into Lima Saturday night and saw this beautiful fountain park, explored more around town Sunday and left for Satipo (9 hour bus ride) Sunday night. I've been working all week and finally got some internet going, so here I am!
So Satipo and Peru, naturally, are a lot different from Spain- it's winter here, but Satipo is hot and humid, being in the jungle. My host family is really nice, though I think living where I am is going to be an adventure, to say the least- but I think I'll get used to it for a few months!
Anyway, for starters, here are a couple pictures from Lima :)

yep. dat shit's insane. unfortunately, we made it back the other day. we even intentionally tried to miss our flight out of zurich so that we would have no choice but to stay, but we misread the check-in/departure time and ended up having 15 minutes to spare.
